Humble Moms: How the Word of Christ Sustains the Work of Motherhood by Kristen Wetherell

This book club is for moms of all ages!

Being a mom is one of the most rewarding jobs, it is also one of the hardest. We grow weary as we pour ourselves out, wondering where we’ll get the strength to serve another day. If we’re honest, we can become exhausted by the constant call to tend to our family. We can even sometimes resent the posture of humility and servanthood it requires. We can easily go about humble work without a humble heart. As we work our way through this book, looking at the life and work of Christ, we will learn how our life and work as a mom is sustained by Christ in the process.

Systematic Thelogy by Wayne Grudem

Studying theology does not have to be difficult or intimidating! This summer group will be a place for women to explore theological concepts that they would like to think about more deeply. We will read a chapter on a theological topic before meeting and spend time discussing our thoughts, questions, and how this theology should shape our lives.

As we study we will labor to make sure this does not just stop at the building up of just our knowledge, but moves us to live and worship God more faithfully. Topics for reading and discussion will include Sufficiency of Scripture, God’s Providence, Man as Male and Female, Sanctification, and Means of Grace within the church.

Repentance: A Daring Call to Real Surrender by Jack Miller

Repentance begins at conversion―but it doesn’t stop there. It’s an ongoing attitude for daily living in Christ. "Repentance is not religious penance, self-effort, or condemnation," says Jack Miller. True repentance puts us in the right relationship with the Lord and enables us to walk in the fullness of His Spirit, growing and being used in the fullness of His purpose for us. Let’s join together to read and learn about the enormous difference between a guilt-laden penance and a gospel-kissed repentance.

Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin

We all know it’s important to study God’s word. But sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. What’s more, a lack of time, emotionally driven approaches, and past frustrations can erode our resolve to keep growing in our knowledge of Scripture. How can we, as Christian women, keep our focus and sustain our passion when reading the Bible? Women of the Word has helped countless women with a clear and concise plan they can use every time they open their Bible. This book will equip you to engage God’s word in a way that trains your mind and transforms your heart.
