WHEN I AM AFRAID: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE AWAY FROM FEAR & ANXIETY

In this 7-week Bible study we will be looking at God’s most frequent command: Do not be afraid. The Bible contains over 300 occurrences! God knows us and sees our fears. He cares and is ready to help us in our times of need. In When I Am Afraid, we will look together at our fears and anxieties, what they say about us, and learn more about what we love and care about. Together we will aim to grow in understanding and appropriating God’s help and deliverance in the midst of fear, worry, and anxiety.

During our time together on Wednesdays there will be weekly teaching, discussion, reflection, and praying for one another. Outside of Wednesday mornings you can expect 15-20 minutes of daily reflection time in your workbook. This study is for women of all ages and stages!

FIRST PRINCIPLES COURSE (SIMEON TRUST)

This is a video course done together in person that introduces some of the foundational convictions and skills for teaching the Bible. The discussions can help renew one’s commitment to biblical teaching and offer fresh motivation. The skills presented provide principles that allow one to more clearly listen to what the text itself communicates, so that it can be communicated to others. This study is geared toward women of any age who are familiar with the Bible and are interested in growing in skills of reading, understanding, and teaching the Bible. This is a great opportunity for women who lead in regular teaching ministries including large group instructors, small group teachers, and women’s and children’s ministry leaders who teach. The instruction component is delivered through video lectures. We will complete the study questions while watching the video instructions together.

Each week we will cover a different prayer topic, read from Psalms, discuss, and spend time in prayer together. We hope you can join us and learn how the Psalms give us words to pray about real struggles in our everyday lives and grow in our prayer life. This study is for women of all ages and stages!

IMPOSSIBLE CHRISTIANITY

The apostle Paul described the Christian life as a race, but to many believers it feels more like a punishing obstacle course. Fearing they’ll never be able to do enough or give enough or be enough, they see themselves as spiritual failures. But Scripture offers good news: even in ordinary life, Christians can be faithful, fruitful, and pleasing to God.

Impossible Christianity reassures readers that they don’t need to feel a collective sense of guilt for sins in the past and solve every societal problem in the present. Through biblical wisdom and engaging personal stories, Kevin DeYoung challenges the misconception that we need 40 hours in the day just to be good Christians. By reflecting on what Jesus actually taught about Christian discipleship, readers will be encouraged to pursue single-minded devotion to God and find lasting joy in a life of sincere and simple obedience. This study is for women of all ages and stages!
